Flow morphia slow...

When I was in third grade my dad rented "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and he, my brother (who was 12 at the time) and I watched it at my grandma's house. Yeah, weird.

I remember not wanting to watch it at first just because it had the word "horror" in the title and I thought that meant that it was a scary movie, but I gave in and sat to watch.

From that day on I was changed forever! My mom was called by the school a few months later because the teacher was disturbed by my singing "Toucha Toucha Me" in class. I had pictures of Tim Curry in drag pasted in my notebook in sixth grade and daydreamed about one day marrying him in his Frank N Furter costume.

Well, last Thursday I was in the same room with Tim Curry! Jorge played Eddie in the 35th Anniversary concert that was put on for charity, "The Painted Turtle", and Tim was there in the audience. I teared up when they called him on stage. It was like I was in third grade all over again. The show was incredible and I had such a fun time throwing rice, toast, cards and toilet paper at the people in front of me. It was one of the best nights of my life :)

That's so awesome that there are no words sufficient to describe the awesomeness.

I'm so glad you guys had a great time. I wish I could have been there!

I'm a long time lurker, but thought I'd come out of hiding to share the love for Tim Curry! And I love your outfit in the photo, too. That 35th Anniversary show sounds like a blast.

LOL... I don't know Rocky Horror Picture Show at all really so I had to google pictures of Tim Curry in that show to see what I was missing. Okay.. after seeing him and knowing you wanted to marry him dressed like that in 6th grade, I'm thinking.. hmmm.....maybe the teacher was right?? ;-)

Sounds like it was a blast. I've still yet to make it to a live show but when that day comes I will party hard :)
Beth - did you meet Tim Curry? I would have dropped dead...

Funny story about third grade Beth. Jorge looks great in his costume! He is so talented! Could you send this link to Damon? Seems he is no longer on FB. It mentions how Stephen King prefers to watch Lost over Mad Men. He may have seen it but I didn't know.http://www.usaweekend.com/article/20101029/ENTERTAINMENT06/10310316/What%5C-s-on-Stephen-King%5C-s-dark-side

How fun! I remember going to see it at midnight one time at the Oriental theater in Milwaukee. That was a good time. I can't imagine how fun it would be live!

So cool that you finally got to at least be in the same room as him. He's like your Trent Reznor... but creepier.

I hope you had the best time! And to be in the same room with Tim - you lucky lucky duck!

I loved this post - because I too find Tim Curry as Dr. F one of the most sexy things on the planet.....and I'm not quite sure what to do with that.

Tried to take our 13 year old for the first time this year - and the tickets sold out.....thought she was never going to speak to me again.

Rocky is such a lovely slice of americana & I'm so happy that Jorge was involved. PERFECT choice for Eddie. I love to hear him sing!

All the best to you both - Hope Pip & Smidge are settling in
Best!! K

That movie changed my life. I've seen, and semi-performed to, it well over 100 times.

All I remember about meeting Tim Curry is that he was much shorter than I expected.

Wish I'd known about the performance ahead of time but I guess it wasn't to be.
