Dear Mr. Jesus

When I was about seven years old there was a song played on radio stations in Milwaukee called "Dear Mr. Jesus". It was a song that was created in order to make people aware of child abuse.

This song used to scare the shit out of me. The scary part was that it was sung by a little girl who had this creepy little dead girl voice that stuck in my head. And for some reason, the creepiest line to me was "please don't tell my daddy, that my momma hits me too". SCREEEEEEAMM! I would seriously FREAK OUT everytime I heard this. And still to this day I can't stand to listen to it.

This creepy website plays the song....

Oh my, and to think the thing I most feared as a child were those "yup yup yup yup uh huh uh huh" aliens on Sesame Street. If I heard that on the radio as a child I'd be scared too!

My God! I had goose bumps and had a hard time swallowing while I listened to that. Little children singing/talking in creepy voices is the scariest thing ever. My friend had this "Prayer Doll" that recited the Lord's prayer in an evil whisper voice *shudder*.
It's sinister, that song - the lull before the horde of demons come pouring out.

I'm with Julie... My childhood fears seemed pretty petty and stupid compared to child abuse.

My fear was snakes inside the sheets at the bottom of my bed. I was always had a plan to build a brick wall in my bed so the snakes wouldn't come up and bite my feet.

Oh, I loved the aliens! They still crack me up to this day!

As for that song... yeah, disturbing.

Holy crapcakes that is a creepy song! Wow, and then the super 80's singing guy at the end gives it extra creep factor. Really? On the radio? Yikes.

Kake79,

I'm my older years I can see the humor in them now, but I have to admit they still scare the crap out of me. They are just so freaking creepy, the way their mouths bounce up and down.
