nahrung in münchen

we stopped in at a restaurant in our hotel called "palais keller" which served traditional bavarian fare. looking at the menu i had no clue as to what anything other than "bratwurstschneke" was.

so i ordered that and it came out in a curly q! fun AND delicious! mmmmm, i love kraut.

i gave the "apfelstrudel mit vanillasoße" a thumbs up!

Spiral food is weird. Unless of course it's a danish. Do the Germans sell Danishes?

Wow.. I never would have been able to eat that sausage. My first instinct was that it looked like poo (sorry), but my second was a pretzel. I guess I could have eaten it if I programmed my mind the right way!

Schneke is a snail, so the Bratwurstschneke is a bratwurst shaped like a snail, I guess. I've had snails in Germany. They're pretty good. You should try them.

Aww I'm jealous! When I was a little girl I lived in Lochham (suburb of Munich) and I miss it. I still have some skirts and dresses though I was young so they don't make me look like a barmaid. :)

Hi Beth
Good choice though - I'm German and I don't have a clue what the rest of the menue could be (weel, most of it). Those Bavarians have kinda their own language ;) Hope you had a good time in Germany.

@ Topanga: Are danishes pastry in "snail form"? Then: yes, we do sell them - about in every bakery, mostly with raisins or with poppy seed and always very, very sweet.
