we arrived in munich late last evening. we're both extremely jet-lagged but very excited to be here. we had our first pretzels at breakfast this morning. mmmmmm!
last night on our way to the hotel we stopped at the eisbach river which is in the englischer garten. the river has a standing wave in it where people actually surf! it was amazing!
we were there around 10pm last night and there were these two dudes surfing in like 45 degree weather. sooo crazy. sooooo cool.

wow... I didn't know about that!
Great looking river and I love the snowy effect of the water at night.
Come to Nova Scotia to see crazy surfing. The best times to surf here is fall and winter when the hurricanes and nor-easters come up the coast.
Glad you made it safe, that river looks amazing, i've never seen anything like that before. Enjoy your stay.
Holy crap! That is hilarious! Also very amazing looking.
Hope you guys have a great trip. Look forward to reading about some of your adventures!
That is so fucking unbelievably awesome looking!!
The German government are trying to demolish the Eisbach wave for ‘health and safety' reasons...welcome to Europe!
Beth, you guys enjoy MUC, get the"butter pretzels" so ono. We moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen about 3 months ago, we are retired (Navy)as of 4/30. I took(the wife) a DoD Civilian job at the Marshall Center. Love it here, although we miss Hawaii. This place we live is small and private. You guys should think about coming down. Much to see. I don't think you would get hasseled, it's slow in these parts, also it's a resort town. Can help you find private lodging. Would love to take you guys to dinner and some pints after! j4mcfall@hotmail.com or if you just have questions about the area-no strings.
GREAT PHOTOGRAPHY!! I think Justin is jealous.
Yeah, that photo is awesome.
