roy's

a poem i wrote about my favorite restaurant...

all day long

before five at night

i brim with excitement

for the most tastiest bite

i drive 'round the coast

till i hit hawaii kai

and see tiki torches

and the name of my guy

it's ROY! it's ROY's!

a magical place

that creates delicious dishes

and puts a smile on my face

they bring edamame

and then pupus galore

and no matter how full i get

i want more and more

waimanalo greens salad,

blackened ahi and ribs

and when the meatlloaf comes out

on the mushrooms i've got dibs

between each bite of food

on my martini i sip

a pomegranate treat

with a lime on its lip

and after five courses

of pure yummy delight

a hot dessert is brought

a perfect cap on the night

a chocolate souffle

and vanilla ice cream

surrounded by raspberry sauce

a beautiful dream

so roy's i say thank you

for making my days

so wonderful and splendid

with your magical food ways

Hehe... cute. Must be some damn good food.

I'd write one for my favorite restaurant, but what rhymes with "Kowloon"?!

;)

Bloody hell. I saw your comment on Jorge Garcia's blog. To tell the truth, I think you're absolutely gorgeous.

I was just looking at your blog and saw this entry. So nice to see someone as crazy about Roy's as I am. Went to the one in Kawaii on my honeymoon in 1996 and my wife and I loved it. We have visited every Roys we have ever been near. We live on Long Island so we have gone to the one in NYC (when it was there). We have been to the one in Philly and in Baltimore. When we go to Vegas we always go right before we take the redeye home and they are more than happy to hold our luggage.

Man, you should write restaurant reviews. Not those stuffy, critical ones, just review the places you like so you can stay happy and lighthearted about them. Right now you're two for two on making me want to travel long distances for food. Kudos!
